Learning Objectives

As a result of taking this course participants will be able to:

  1. Describe historical and contemporary theories of latency with a view to understandingthe clinical implications of contemporary theories
  2. Understand basic developmental tasks and features from ages 6 to 12
  3. Utilize knowledge of developmental principles in the treatment of adults when derivatives of latency development are in evidence
  4. Understand how trauma and societal factors affect this phase of development
