September 27, 2024 — Contemporary theories on Oedipal Dynamics
[27 pages]
Utilizing contemporary relational theory we can consider development as an ongoing and complex process whereby we potentially continuously reconfigure earlier developmental accomplishment. Multiple self-states and new and evolving relationship patterns provide ways to expand self-experience and relationships with others. Jodi Davies article allows us to consider the Oedipal Complex as an ongoing and evolving experience of love and relating rather than a fixed and resolved structure in the mind.
