Nathaniel Amos
Hi! I’m a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) with nearly fifteen years experience in mental/behavioral health. I began my career in hospital-based settings and transitioned to work in college counseling centers. I’ve worked in private practice since 2017. My earliest training was in cognitive therapy and I’ve been cross-trained in a number of other evidence-based modalities, primarily in working with trauma. My practice focuses on trauma recovery (including C-PTSD and associated characterological disorders), couples work, and general outpatient anxiety/depression. In my personal life: I read, I collect action figures, I gym. I love fiction of most kinds (literary, sci-fi, fantasy). I know a lot about comic book superheroes (hence the action figures). I enjoy cooking and quiet, domestic things. As a helpful shorthand: I’m an Enneagram 4w5, an INFP (MBTI Type), and a Scorpio Sun with a Taurus Moon and Capricorn Rising. I look forward to connecting with you.
Christopher Arthur
Hello! I am a third-year psychiatry resident at the University of Washington, with clinical interests in psychotherapy and geriatric psychiatry. I grew up in Virginia where I attended the College of William & Mary for undergrad and majored in psychology. While there, I developed an interest in structural family systems theory which ultimately led me to pursue a career in psychiatry and psychotherapy. I attended Emory University in Atlanta for medical school before moving out to the lovely Pacific Northwest for my residency training. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons, hiking, playing guitar, and making home espresso.
James Bowen
Hello all! My name is James Bowen and I am a general adult psychiatrist newly starting a psychotherapy-focused solo practice in SoDo. I am originally from Texas, where I completed undergrad at UT Dallas and my MD and MPH degrees at UT Southwestern. After graduating from the UW psychiatry residency in 2021, I worked at the Seattle VA as a general outpatient and IOP psychiatrist before deciding to leave to hang my own shingle. In my spare time, you can find me baking cakes and macarons with my husband, collecting vinyl records, hiking and traveling, and playing tug-of-war with my dachshund, Sir Augustus. I’m excited to join the SPSI community and learn with and from you all!
Ingrid Buchan
I’m a Seattle based psychotherapist and started private practice in 2020 after many years in community mental health and child welfare. In my practice, I tend to work with queer, neurodivergent adults. I graduated from the UW MSW program in 2014. I was born and raised here in Seattle and outside of work I enjoy music, travel and the outdoors. I live with my partner and two giant, high maintenance dogs.
Neta Cohen

I moved to the PNW six years ago and now live in Redmond with my husband, son, and our sweet Labrador. I run a private practice specializing in major life transitions, including relocation, immigration, identity issues (work-related and otherwise), as well as fertility and parenthood. In my spare time, I love traveling and discovering hidden gems wherever I go. I’m excited to meet you all!
Jay Davidson
I’m a child and adolescent psychiatry fellow at the University of Washington. I’m a Seattle area native and recently moved back after medical school in Washington DC and residency in New Mexico. I’ve also lived abroad in South Korea and Panama. I love wandering in the outdoors and that is often where I find time to reflect and recharge. My interest in psychoanalysis started during my undergraduate studies while majoring in philosophy. I’m very much looking forward to being a part of the SPSI community and exploring psychoanalytic thought with colleagues and educators.
Robert Deeble
I am a licensed psychotherapist and clinical supervisor in private practice since 2006. I work primarily with adults in individual therapy or couples therapy. My training and practice is based on relational psychotherapy and informed by a psychoanalytic perspective. I hold a masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and trained under Dr. Roy Barsness in supervision for many years following my graduate studies. Alongside being a psychotherapist, I am also a dad, a husband, a musician and a songwriter. It was during my travels as an artist where I developed a love for the narratives of people I met on the road, this intrigue accompanies my counseling work today.
Madeline Elledge
I studied existential phenomenology at Seattle University after many years of searching for the ideal application of my undergraduate degree in poetry. Both disciplines have really nurtured my fascination with sensory experiences and how differently the world appears to people. To me, it appears almost dreamlike. What is irrational seems so vibrant and full of wisdom. I am interested in the myths we live and the archetypes we embody. I love the way we intuitively turn our feelings into images and make stories of our lives. What draws me into my work as a therapist is my desire to intimately know another person––their fears, desires, what matters most to them, everything they feel makes them terrible––and I have found that truly to know someone is to love them. It just feels so good to me.

Hello! I am an adult psychiatrist working in Renton WA. I recently opened a psychotherapy based private practice and am looking to grow more in the therapy space. Originally from sunny Florida, I moved to Seattle for psychiatry residency at University of Washington. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and attempting to travel with 3 young kids!
Sherill Ren
Hi my name is Sherill Ren and I earned my Masters degrees in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University’s Teachers College in 2013. Over the past 11 years I have worked in schools, consulting firms and later started my Mandarin and English bilingual coaching and counseling practice providing services to individuals who are Chinese or Chinese descent. My interest in psychoanalytical work sprung from the organic process of my own truth finding journey, as well as the transformational work I get to do with my clients, through which I came to experience the incredible healing potential psychoanalytical work possess in dealing with generational cultural trauma and the often overlapping CPTSD. I’m excited to deepen my learning and form lifetime friendships at SPSI with fellow helping professionals. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time playing or cooking with my two kids who are my daily inspirations. I also love traveling, skiing, painting, reading, and writing.
Matthias Roberts
Hi SPSI community, excited to be here! I’m a therapist in private practice where I do depth-based work at the intersections of trauma, queerness, and recovering from religious harm. On the side, I write and have published a couple trade books on these topics. I live with my french bulldog, Beatrice, and will gladly swap dog photos/stories at any opportunity. I look forward to being in community with you all and growing deeper in my analytic understanding.
