Randall Paulsen, MD
Having recently moved to Seattle to be near grandchildren, at 77 years old, I am in a pre-retirement stage of my career. I am still working via Zoom with some clients back East. I am looking forward to teaching at SPSI and continuing my Balint group facilitation at UW’s psychiatry department. I enjoy doing analytic supervision and am looking forward to being a Consulting Analyst with candidates at SPSI.
I graduated from the Tufts Department of Psychiatry in 1980, and from the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institue (BPSI) in 1987. I have practiced psychoanalysis, psychotherapy and psychiatry up to the present, although I’m not taking new clinical cases at this time. In 2010, I became a training and supervising analyst at BPSI.
I practice psychoanalysis and psychiatry. I was president of BPSI from 2004 to 2008.
I have taught mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR), and have facilitated Balint groups since 1990.
