October 25, 2024 — Internal Racism as a developmental phase
[32 pages]
- M Fahkry Davids has developed a theory of internal racism as an aspect of normal development, suggesting we all have a racist structure (us vs them) within our minds that develops as we identify with an in-group. This week’s readings include excepts from his book. We will focus on chapter 3. I’ve also included Ch 2 which provides the detailed clinical material he references, but this chapter is optioal (sections of clinical material are included in Ch 3). Also, please read the 4 pages from the Islamophobia article.
